Embroidered Cuff Inspired by Traditional Mexican Embroidery

Another cuff that combines two of my passions - tapestry style embroidery and bead weaving!

I have been looking at the traditional embroidery of Mexico for inspiration, and created a series of colorful medallions that go around the entire cuff. After the embroidery was complete, I lightly glued a piece of soft suede leather to the back and trimmed it to match the front. I edged the cuff with brick stitch which served as an anchor for a whip stitch embellishment of different colored seed beads to add a playful touch. The closure is a silver plated tube sliding clasp.
